Abolition Bills Filed in Six States

Abolition bills have been filed in Indiana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Missouri and, for the first time ever, North Dakota

IndianaHB1344 was filed by Representative Lorissa Sweet and co-authored by Representative Lindsay Patterson. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Courts and Criminal Codes.

OklahomaSB456 was filed by Senator Dusty Deevers and co-authored by Senator Warren Hamilton. A rally sponsored by Abolish Abortion Oklahoma will be held on February 4th at 10:00am local time in support of the bill.

South CarolinaH3537 was filed by Representative Rob Harris and has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

North DakotaHB1373 was filed by Representative Lori VanWinkle with 11 co-sponsors. The bill has been referred to the Human Services Committee. The bill will receive a committee hearing February 5th. Contact these legislators and tell them to give a “do pass” recommendation.

Missouri – Abolitionist’s legislators file bills to nullify the “right to abortion” in Missouri’s Constitution. Senator Mike Moon filed SB619 and on the House side Justin Sparks filed HB1072. A rally in support of the bill will be held on February 19th from 1:00-3:00pm in the Capitol Rotunda.

Texas – Representative Brent Money filed HB2197 to abolish abortion in Texas. A rally in support of the bill will take place February 19th at 11:00am at the state capitol in Austin. More information can be found here.

February 4thOhio Church Leaders Meeting. The meeting will be held at 299 Haskell Ln., Batavia, OH from 5:30-8:00.

February 5th – North Dakota bill hearing at 9:00 am local time at the state capitol in Bismark.

February 19th – Abolish Abortion Missouri Rally from 1:00-3:00pm local time in the Capitol Rotunda.

February 19th – Abolish Abortion TX Rally for Equal Protection at 11:00am local time at the State Capitol in Austin. You can RSVP here. Activism at UT Austin will also take place on this day. More information can be found at https://abolishabortiontx.org/rally/

February 27th – Abolish Abortion Michigan is hosting an event in support of their upcoming abolition from 7:00-8:30pm at 4435 Rochester Rd. Oakland Township, MI.

Abolitionists Rising Conference Recap (Part 2)

The Abolitionists Rising Conference was held in Wichita, KS on March 1st-4th. Each day included activism and education for attendees. According to Jared Burdick of AIM Kansas, over 3,000 gospel conversations were had as well as over 50,000 pieces of literature were handed out.

Alabama Pastors Meeting Announced/Held

Jeff Durbin announced on End Abortion Now’s Facebook page that an Alabama Pastors meeting will be held on Friday, March 10th in support of Alabama’s upcoming bill of equal protection. The meeting will be held from 11:00am-2:00pm local time at Grace Chapel Reformed Baptist Church, 500 Commerce St, Argo, AL. A recording of the event can be found here.

Texas Files Abolition Bill in Senate

SB2198 was filed on March 9th as a companion for HB2709 already filed in the Texas House in February.

Abolition Headlines

Free the States released a video on YouTube titled “Abortion is Still Legal in All 50 States“. Please share the video as much as you are able.

Abolish Abortion Kentucky released Episode 9 this week recapping the Abolitionists Rising Conference and an update on HB300.

Free the States published an article this week by SBC Pastor Dusty Deevers titled, “Bible or Barber on Abolishing Abortion.” Barber also wrote his own article about abolitionists this week in which he (again) misrepresents the abolitionists position.

Apologia Studios released a video on their YouTube channel this week of an interview with John Barros titled “Provoked: Humble Baby-Rescuer w/John Barros“.

The Colorado Times Recorder published an article titled “Wheat and Chaff, Sheep and Goats: Divides Within the Christian Anti-Abortion Movement“.
