
Abolition Bills Filed in Eleven States
- Indiana – HB1344 was filed by Representative Lorissa Sweet and co-authored by Representative Lindsay Patterson. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Courts and Criminal Codes.
- Oklahoma – SB456 was filed by Senator Dusty Deevers and co-authored by Senator Warren Hamilton. The bill was heard in the Judiciary Committee, but failed 2-6 with four pro-life representative voting against the bill.
- South Carolina – H3537 was filed by Representative Rob Harris and has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
- North Dakota – HB1373 was filed by Representative Lori VanWinkle with 11 co-sponsors. The bill was heard in committee then debated on the house floor, but was voted down 16-77-1.

- Missouri – Abolitionist’s legislators file bills to nullify the “right to abortion” in Missouri’s Constitution. Senator Mike Moon filed SB619 and on the House side Justin Sparks filed HB1072. A rally in support of the bill will be held on February 19th from 1:00-3:00pm in the Capitol Rotunda. Abolish Abortion Missouri is also doing a weekly podcast with legislative updates.
- Texas – Representative Brent Money filed HB2197 to abolish abortion in Texas. A rally in support of the bill will take place February 19th at 11:00am at the state capitol in Austin. More information can be found here.
- Kansas – HB2171, the Abolish Abortion Kansas Act, has been referred to the Committee on Federal and State Affairs. A companion bill, SB174, has also been filed in the Kansas Senate and has been referred to the Committee on Public Health and Welfare. - Idaho – After receiving a print hearing, State Senator Brandon Shippy filed SB1059, the Idaho Prenatal Equal Protection Act. Pro-Life committee Chair, Jim Guthrie, is refusing to give the bill a full hearing. Idaho abolitionists are asking that you contact Representative Guthrie and ask him to give the bill a hearing.
- Kentucky – HB523 was introduced by Representatives Richard White and Josh Calloway and has been assigned to the House Committee on Committees.
- Georgia – HB441, the Georgia Prenatal Equal Protection Act, has been filed in Georgia once again by Emory Dunahoo, with five co-sponsors. It has been assigned to the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee. A rally for the bill will be held on March 3rd at 11:00 at the state capitol in Atlanta.
- Iowa – Representative Dieken has filed HF453, Iowa’s Equal Protection Bill for Unborn Children. The bill has been assigned to the Judiciary Committee. Iowa Abolitionists has listed action steps to support the bill here.

- The Babbling Pastor Podcast recorded an episode concerning abolitionism titled, “Christians Weren’t Ready for This“.
- Pro-Abortion publication Mother Jones wrote an article featuring abolitionism titled, “The Anti-Abortion Movement is Splintering“.
- Abolish Abortion KY showed up at the KY March with signs to support HB523. Pro-lifers were not necessarily pleased and the news covered it here.
