Abolition Bills Update
- Indiana – HB1344 was filed by Representative Lorissa Sweet and co-authored by Representative Lindsay Patterson. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Courts and Criminal Codes.
- South Carolina – H3537 was filed by Representative Rob Harris and has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
- Missouri – Abolitionist’s legislators file bills to nullify the “right to abortion” in Missouri’s Constitution. Senator Mike Moon filed SB619 and on the House side Justin Sparks filed HB1072. Abolish Abortion Missouri is also doing a weekly podcast with legislative updates.
- Texas – Representative Brent Money filed HB2197 to abolish abortion in Texas.
- Kansas – HB2171, the Abolish Abortion Kansas Act, has been referred to the Committee on Federal and State Affairs. A companion bill, SB174, has also been filed in the Kansas Senate and has been referred to the Committee on Public Health and Welfare. - Idaho – After receiving a print hearing, State Senator Brandon Shippy filed SB1059, the Idaho Prenatal Equal Protection Act. Pro-Life committee Chair, Jim Guthrie, is refusing to give the bill a full hearing. Idaho abolitionists are asking that you contact Representative Guthrie and ask him to give the bill a hearing, which he has said he will refuse to do.
- Kentucky – HB523 was introduced by Representatives Richard White and Josh Calloway and has been assigned to the House Committee on Committees.

- Georgia – HB441, the Georgia Prenatal Equal Protection Act, has been filed in Georgia once again by Emory Dunahoo, with twenty-one co-sponsors. It was assigned to the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee, but was not given a hearing by the crossover deadline. The bill received a hearing on March 26th and based on my understanding could possibly make it to a vote next legislative session.

- Coverage:
- Iowa – Representative Dieken filed HF453, Iowa’s Equal Protection Bill for Unborn Children. The bill was to the Judiciary Committee and rally to support this bill was held on March 4th. Iowa Abolitionists posted on March 6th that the bill has now been killed since it was never given a hearing.
- Maine – Maine first bill to abolish abortion, LD975, has been filed. The bill will received a public hearing on March 28th. Action steps to support the bill can be found here.

- The Missouri Rally to Abolish Abortion have been rescheduled for March 24th from 1:00-3:00pm local time.
- The King’s Coalition for Abolition, Maine’s Abolitionist Organization, is asking abolitionists to sign to support a bill of abolition.
- Abolitionists Rising is asking for everyone to watch this video.
- On March 19th, Abolish Abortion TX posted this update from the Texas State Capitol.
- Golden State Abolitionists posted this YouTube video of their full interaction with Kristan Hawkins. Abolitionists Rising also hosted a conversation with five abolition women to discuss Hawkins slander of the abolition movement.
- The Foundation to Abolish Abortion published an update on Georgia’s Abolition Bill. They also posted a great two minute video on X about the ground abolitionism is gaining.

March 25th – Abolish Abortion Wisconsin is hosting a campus outreach on March 25th at the University of Wisconsin-Stout from 10:00-4:00pm local time (weather permitting).
